The national show in Herning is now over. It has been a good week, despite the very unstable weather with both sun, rain and much wind.
We exhibited three catalog numbers this year. The first animal in the ring to be judged by French judge David Riviere was Bloksdal Matador -ET V.B. (Vaillant x Anabelle). He weighed 1143 kg at the show. Matador finished second in the group and scored 22 points. A tough start for our lovely bull.
Next in line was Bloksdal Opal (Cristal-DK x Bloksdal Hæmatit). She weighed 683 kg and finished fourth with 22 points in a large group of fantastic heifers.
Last was Bloksdal Mirabelle – ET (Vaillant x Anabelle), who weighed 907 kg. She was a little disappointing at number three, in the group with extraordinarily good heifers. However, she was given 23 points and would later take part in the honorary prize competition. Here, 23 Charolai’s animals were shaved down to eleven prize animals. Despite her third place in the group, Mirabelle was placed as a beautiful number nine, which earned an honorary prize from J Hundahl in Thisted. This was the fifth honorary award at the National Show within the last five years, with four different animals. Which we are very proud of and suggest our breeding work goes really well.
On Friday, Anders and Martin participated in the Danish Championship in mustering. They both did really well, with Anders in the top ten and Martin in the top five.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who helped make the days at the national show very good days, we at Bloksdal Charolais have at least enjoyed all the days in Herning. We would like to congratulate everyone on their awards and placements.
