At our farm, breeding work and shows are a great inspiration in daily work with the animals, and we spend a lot of time and energy on the breeding work. But even though we like to have big animals and winning shows, the most important thing fore us will always be that the animals have a good temper.
In the selection of breeding bulls and insemination bulls, great emphasis is placed on selecting bulls that can meet our breeding goals. If animals are to be included in the herd in the future, one type of bull is used, most often insemination bulls and if “slaughter calves must be produced”. “another type is used, mostly our own bull.
So we try to work with specific male and female lines. This strategy is chosen because we have different requirements / wishes for the cows to be included in the future production / breeding on the farm, and for our bulls, the vast majority of which are slaughtered before they are 1 year old.
