We have had a visit from our regular hoof pruner, Fjellerad Klovbeskæring by Palle Christiansen. We have treated 10 females and two males. The animals are now ready to be herded on grass in about a month.

Easter calf
Easter started with the fact that we today (Thursday 2 April 2021 ed.) got a new calf. It is Bloksdal MiLady (Bloksdal Juvel x Bloksdal Unak -ET), who has given birth to a calf. She got a heifer calf after our current stockbull Bloksdal Matador -ET V.B. (Vaillant x Anabelle). The calf was an incredibly fresh heifer calf of 55 kg, which will be called Special Lady and get no. 403. In 2018, MiLady became the second best Charolais heifer at the National Show in Herning. It is her third calf and a calf that we are very excited about. MiLady has also been appointed as a bull mother by the Danish Charolais Association and we have a very promising full brother of about 1 year going on sale.

60th birthday
The world’s best wife and mother round a sharp corner today. She is turning 60 years old, even though it is not visible and you probably do not quite want it to be. Just REMEMBER Helle that age is just a number and only matters if you are a Charolais who is going to show. THANK YOU so much for you and for making everything possible.

breeding animals for sale
Today we have chosen to focus on two excellent breeding bulls. But we also have other interesting animals for sale. The first is Bloksdal Rolls Royce (387). He was born on January 18, 2020 and is after Bloksdal Linux -ET V.B. x Bloksdal Mercedes P. Rolls Royce birth weight was 50 kg, 200 dgs weight was 289 kg and his 365 dgs weight was 613 kg. Linux’s parents are Bourgogne x Une Fleur, which are really good animals in Charolais’ motherland, France. For a long time, Linux was one of the best bulls in Denmark measured by various indices – he is, among other things, very positive about calving and milk. Rolls Royce’s mother Bloksdal Mercedes P is after Uvejr Av Strömsnäs x Bloksdal Elana -ET. Uvejr Av Strömsnäs was in his time the best tested Danish / Swedish Charolais bull in relation to low feed consumption in Denmark. Elana was a large show cow who i.a. has won an honorary award at the National Show. In other words, with Rolls Royce you have a bull for the future of breeding and production. In particular, his good temperament as well as meat-setting should be highlighted.
The next bull is Bloksdal Roman (391). He was born on April 12, 2020 and is after Bloksdal Matador -ET V.B. x Bloksdal MiLady. Roman birth weight was 57 kg and his 200 dgs weight was 341 kg. Matador’s parents are show winners from France (Vaillant x Anabelle). While his mother Bloksdal MiLady is after Bloksdal Juvel x Bloksdal Unak -ET. Juvel was a huge bull we have bred ourselves and which was positive for birth and milk. Both Unak and MiLady have won honorary awards at the National Show in Herning. MiLady is registered as designated by the Danish Charolais Association as a potential bull mother due to good indices. Roman is a bull with good perspectives, he is tall and long, has a lot of race character and has a uniquely good temperament. Both bulls will be an excellent choice for both purebred and crossbreeding.
In addition to these bulls, as mentioned earlier, we also have other younger bulls on the way, as well as several good females for sale. Check out our sales page on this page and do not hesitate to contact us if interested. Visitors are also always welcome where the animals and their temperament as well as several grandparents can be inspected.

Sale of quality meet
In everyday life, the animals’ well-being and breeding work is a great source of inspiration for us. But in addition to selling breeding animals, we slaughter about 10 animals every year. They are all slaughtered and finely chopped under veterinarian-controlled conditions at Hadsund cattle slaughterhouse – part of Himmerland meat. In addition to meat, we are also sellers of the original Charolais wine. A wine that goes perfectly with a piece of primary beef. If you are interested in Danish-produced beef, where animal welfare is on top and the quality of the meat as well – then contact Bloksdal Charolais.

Holly has been slaughtered
Today we slaughtered one of the oldest cows in the herd. It is Kristina nine year old cow Bloksdal Holly V.B. (Aros Hvirring x Bloksdal Smilla V.B.) who has been slaughtered. Smilla managed to have seven calves, including several sets of twins. Holly weighed almost 500 kg at slaughter and went in a good classification. Despite her good body and temperament, she has never been exhibited at an animal show.

A polled heifer calf
Today we got another calf. This time it was Bloksdal Mercedes P (Uvejr Av Strömsnäs x Bloksdal Elana -ET) who got the calf. She manages this all by herself and extremely fast.
We could follow the calving eith the help of iPhone and iPad through our monitoring system and could see that it took less than 10 minutes from the time we could see the legs of the calf until it was born.
The calf is a polled heifer calf after Bloksdal Matador -ET V.B. (Vaillant x Anabelle). It weighed 50 kg at birth, gets no. 402 and must be named Bloksdal Superb P.
